A Message to Students Impacted by The Landing School Closure
To the students, applicants, and families affected by the recent announcement regarding The Landing School:
Everyone at the Marine Trades Institute (MTI) recognizes the uncertainty and disappointment many of you may be experiencing. For decades, The Landing School has played an important role in marine trades education, and we understand how difficult this transition may feel for students who had planned to begin or continue their education there.
At MTI, we want you to know that your goals, ambitions, and passion for the marine trades still have a place to grow.
Located in Cedarville, Michigan, the Marine Trades Institute prepares students for rewarding careers in the marine industry through immersive, hands-on education in:
- Comprehensive Career Boat Building

Our programs emphasize craftsmanship, technical skill development, industry professionalism, and real-world shop experience. Students spend the majority of their day actively building, repairing, troubleshooting, and learning alongside experienced instructors in a highly personalized environment.
