Comprehensive Career Boat Building Program

Looking for a career that combines the traditional with the modern, craftsmanship with skill, and passion with work? Then the Comprehensive Career Boat Building (CCBB) Program may be the perfect place to start! 

Program Objective

  • Prepares students for careers in custom boat building, restoration, repair, and more! 
  • Graduates develop well-rounded, adaptable knowledge and skills required in the wooden boat industry
  • Gain employment in manufacturing and in maintenance facilities, as well as in high-end custom boat building and restoration shops

Program Description

  • 44 semester credits of coursework (including classroom time, shop time, individual and team projects, etc.) 
  • The program is completed in three 15-week semesters in a 12-month period
  • Students complete a total of 1432 clock hours
  • At the completion of the program, students will receive a diploma

Amazing Alumni

What I love most about my current job is that I get to be on the water every day and since I am on commission, I can be as busy as I want to be. In Austin the boating industry is huge, and the demand is very high for people like me. This allows me to work as much as I’d like. Seeing different calibers of boats from a 17ft fishing boat to 60 ft yachts to 115 ft houseboats gives me a wide variety of vessels to work on and learn from. This is why I chose this location.
