Cancellation Policy

Marine Trades Institute accepts one cohort of students for each program which begins in the fall semester and continues through to the end of the summer semester. Students are not accepted in the spring or the summer semesters. For this reason, the following cancellation policy applies only to students prior to starting school in the fall semester, as in the spring and summer semester students have already been at the school and have attended classes.

For each fall semester:

  • An applicant requesting cancellation within three days after signing an enrollment agreement and making an initial payment is entitled to a refund of all monies paid, excluding the application fee.
  • An applicant who has been accepted but has not visited the school prior to enrollment may cancel without penalty by requesting cancellation within three business days following either the regularly scheduled orientation procedures or following a tour of the school facilities and inspection of equipment where training and services are provided.
  • An applicant who has been accepted requesting cancellation more than three days after signing an enrollment agreement and making an initial payment, but prior to entering the school, is entitled to a refund of all monies paid, excluding the application fee, minus a registration fee $150.

Amazing Alumni

At the school, we learned about the marine industry on a daily basis through hands-on training, industry standard certifications, and homework assignments. So many resources were available along with the program structure that being able to transition and manage the workload in my new position was doable.

What was most beneficial was a variety of factors; professionally, it would be the network GLBBS can integrate you into: employers, manufacturers, boatbuilders, organizations, etc. Personally, I thought that it was the perfect environment to personally challenge myself but have all the necessities to focus on the goal to become a desirable hire in the marine industry, learn and have fun while doing so. The most important thing for me was becoming acquainted with the overall boat construction process which led to learning about the technicalities of any system in the boat. What was most valuable was meeting people with a similar passion, learning from their experiences, and sharing our knowledge with one another.
