Graduation Rates

The Student Right to Know Act of 1990 requires the disclosure of graduation rates calculated during the Graduation Rates Survey component of the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS). The Graduation Rates Survey collects data on the completion rates of full-time, first-time degree-seeking students. All Marine Trades Institute students are full-time, degree-seeking students. First-time students are students who are attending any post-secondary institution for the first time at the undergraduate level.

The following tables show the IPEDS graduation rates by entering cohort, disaggregated by gender, race/ethnicity, and federal financial aid type. Graduation Rates will be updated with each IPEDS reporting cycle. The most recent IPEDS Graduation Rates reporting cycle collected data on students entering Marine Trades Institute in 2021. Please note that Marine Trades Institute did not collect race and ethnicity data prior to the 2020 academic year. Title IV, HEA federal financial aid was not available to Marine Trades Institute students prior to 2020.

Information regarding graduation rate of certificate- or degree-seeking, first-time, full-time students is also available at the IPEDS Data Center.

Amazing Alumni

The time I spent at the School prepared me for my current job by allowing me real world experience. I was given the opportunity to tour boat owners’ vessels as well as diagnose and find issues aboard. Mike Downey, a former instructor, made it a point to thoroughly explore and understand ABYC standards and how they will apply at my job. I have used these standards on multiple occasions which have allowed me to perform better in my work environment. [As a student], I was given free range to troubleshoot and diagnose engines in the test tank under supervision and given direction on what to look for specifically. This has helped me to have better troubleshooting skills.
