Student Enrichment Fund

Thank you for giving to Marine Trades Institute!

At Marine Trades Institute, we’re training the future of the marine workforce. We’re dedicated to leading marine workforce development across the Great Lakes and beyond by offering hands-on, in-demand training to students seeking rewarding careers in this industry. Your gift to the Student Enrichment Fund (SEF) directly fuels student success by providing access to field trips, specialized equipment, expert instructors, vibrant student life, and more. By supporting the SEF, you help us maintain an exceptional learning environment while keeping tuition affordable, ensuring every student has the opportunity to thrive.

When you donate to the SEF, you become an honorary member of our Annual Giving Society and join a network of support for skilled technical training. Consider choosing a “lake level” that is meaningful to you when making your gift. At each level, you can see examples of how your gift may positively impact the Marine Trades Institute student experience. Your support enables us to cultivate the skills and knowledge necessary for our students to excel in the dynamic and ever-evolving maritime sector.

Gabrielle Inman

Amazing Alumni

The time I spent at the School prepared me for my current job by allowing me real world experience. I was given the opportunity to tour boat owners’ vessels as well as diagnose and find issues aboard. Mike Downey, a former instructor, made it a point to thoroughly explore and understand ABYC standards and how they will apply at my job. I have used these standards on multiple occasions which have allowed me to perform better in my work environment. [As a student], I was given free range to troubleshoot and diagnose engines in the test tank under supervision and given direction on what to look for specifically. This has helped me to have better troubleshooting skills.
